Over New Year 2011/2012, Storm and I went to Cuba to make a book about the wonderful old american cars that have been lovingly cared for, and kept going with amazing ingenuity since the revolution in 1959.  The US blockade put a stop to any parts getting into the country, so they are kept going with washing machine parts, string, Trabant engines and the like.

The images for the book were very limited to what Storm wanted for the book – a front view, a side view and a detail.  Storm wanted to show the design.  I wanted to show the humanity – below are some of my images.
